Wedding Gems

In honor of our upcoming One Month Anniversary (we look for any reason to celebrate anything), I want to share a few things we still find funny about June 30th. Enjoy.


1. Scott got lost somewhere in the temple before and after we got married. Apparently his escort accidentally sent him upstairs and he wandered around while my temple helpers teased me about "someone getting cold feet" before and after the wedding. Not funny, ladies.

2. To those of you unmarried kids, I'll tell you now that you will have no time to be alone with your spouse during the day of your wedding. We tried, but it's just impossible.

Exhibit A: After we were sealed, we had an escort take us down to our dressing rooms. She said she wouldn't watch or listen to anything we did or said while we were escorted. Did she really think we would do or say anything to benefit from that offer in the temple elevator?
Exhibit B: We thought we had some precious time to ourselves while we drove a mile or two to the luncheon, but--I kid you not--Scott's family pulled up in the car next to us and rolled their windows down to wave and chat. Bless their hearts--that was pretty hilarious.
Exhibit C: I think we were getting desperate by the end of the day and tried to have our own elevator ride up to the reception (a whole two floors to ourselves). Scott was frantically pushing the "close door" button but not quick enough to prevent my little sister from jumping in.

3. Some lady came up to us at the temple while we were taking photos and said she wanted to show us the "coolest pose." She then proceeded to demonstrate one of those typical, and in my mind terrible, photos where the bride and groom stand far apart and one of them is lurking in the distance, just watching his/her spouse like a creeper. We waited for the lady to leave and told our photographer, "No thank you."

4. Leaving the reception was very fun. Jill decorated the car so well, and we actually left somewhat on time. As we were leaving the reception, my little cousin, Connor, yelled, "Happy Anniversary! See you on Sunday!" Hahaha.
