Last year I had great success completing all but maybe 3 of my 2019 goals--or at least getting close enough that I called it a success. So I figured I'd list them out again and hopefully succeed despite the newborn odds being against me this year. To be fair (to myself), I didn't set very ambitious goals. Haha.
1. Plan a staycation before baby comes.
2. Lose baby weight and get in normal shape.
3. Read The Book of Mormon
4. Never raise my voice.
5. Design and finish baby #2's nursery.
6. Try dying my eyebrows.
7. Go to the dermatologist with my wish list of skin care changes.
8. Do 30 days of no desserts.
9. Try to can something.
10. Take Ivy on 6 mom or dad dates (probably after baby).
11. Go on 12 solo (duo?) dates with Scott.
12. Take my own sort of official newborn pictures of baby girl.
13. Get up with the alarm.
14. Touch base with ministering sisters.
15. Stop sharing food with Ivy.
16. Get the family in the habit of washing hands before all meals.
17. Establish a good skin care routine.
18. Clean out closet and dresser post baby.
19. Improve my prayers.
20. Consolidate family finances and documents.

Baby #2
Welp, ready or not, here we are!
It would be weird to not write a thing about this pregnancy, although I'm certainly tempted to leave it as a black void in our memory...
Anyway I found out I was pregnant on July 23rd, and I'm due March 30th! We've been lucky to always get pregnant the moment we decide we might be ready, so life turned upside down rather quickly this summer.
The first trimester was...dark. That is really the only word I can use to describe it. I had all the "normal" (read: terrible) symptoms of a first trimester but this time I also battled some severe depression, anxiety, insomnia, and much more exhaustion than my first pregnancy. I have been a walking zombie. It was hard, and I definitely empathize with anyone who experiences mental illness every day. Thankfully most things are improving, I'm being treated for all of the above, and I'm definitely motivated by the fact that this is likely the last time I will do this!
On a lighter note, here are some entertaining bits of my first trimester (even if some of them have super sad undertones haha):
Trimester 3 is going well so far. I mostly feel unprepared to jump into this baby thing again, but we're putting some finishing touches on the nursery, which has been fun. Hopefully the rest of winter goes by quickly (but maybe not too quickly). I am eager to not be pregnant but certainly not ready to be a newborn parent, so I'm not sure what to feel at this point!

- Sometime around Week 6 or 7, I heard a Shawn Mendes song on the radio and I was instantly in tears because my life was SO much better when I was at the Shawn Mendes concert a few weeks before. It is funny now, but certainly wasn't then.
- I have had food aversions to all food (of course) and writing up menu plans was just laughable. I once opened up my "plan" and the entire week just said, "Go out, go to Grandma's, leftovers" (not sure what these leftovers would be from), and then to top off my homemaking skills, the last day of the week had "Grilled cheese."
- I really enjoyed telling Ivy the news. We waited until the first trimester ended so it wasn't a big deal if she told everyone she knows. Her comments would crack me up though. Like the day after we told her she ran into my room in the morning and said, "Did your baby come out?" And another day she asked, "Is the baby playing with your bones?"
