Today's post is about a ridiculous adventure we had the week after we got married. While we were on our honeymoon, we went shopping and found a giant mirror that would be perfect in our living room. We didn't think we had room to take it home then (oh the irony--keep reading), so we had the mirror shipped to another store near our house.
Eventually we came home from the honeymoon, got a call from said store, and went to buy the mirror. Scott pulled the car up to the entrance, and we attempted to take it home. Well, it turns out we never thought to measure the darn thing, and it wouldn't fit in the car. The words, "I'm just not sure how well this plan was thought through" came to mind (name the movie!). After staring at the mirror in the parking lot for quite some time, the freight worker offered to let us take his "cart" and bring it home on foot since, according to Scott, "we only live a few blocks away." (Side note: The guy was very concerned about his cart and made us give him our information before taking it despite the fact that we had to leave our CAR there. We thought that was funny.)
Anyway, twelve blocks, two mosquito bites, and two tired newlyweds later; the mirror finally arrived at the house after we literally carted it on a plank of wood with wheels for 45 minutes through some busy traffic. Thankfully, it did not break and now looks awesome on our wall.
Ah, married life. :)
