5 Years

Scott and I just celebrated our 5-year anniversary!  It was certainly not the anniversary extravaganza we are used to now that we have our newest roommate, but my mom came over and babysat so we could not only go on a date, but also sleep uninterrupted all night long.  This was quite possibly the greatest anniversary gift anyone could've given us.

We went to some fancy restaurant that was, of course, too fancy for our tastes, but it was fun to sit on the same side of the booth and people watch and laugh about just how tired we are.  On the way home we went to Sonic and ordered some shakes because that's really more of our thing.

It felt weird going out without our child even though we've only had a child for a few days.  Parenthood is bizarre.  I go back and forth from missing Ivy to wondering when she's going to college, all day everyday.  (At the moment, I'm hoping she's a child genius and can go at age...7...?)

I think this beanie is the most college-appropriate attire Ivy owns.

How did Ivy make an appearance in this blog post?  This is supposed to be about me and Scott!  Haha.  Anyway, it was so wonderful to celebrate our first big-ish anniversary together. There's honestly nothing more exciting to me than growing old with Scott and it's always fun to celebrate getting a tad closer to that goal.
